Weimiao Auxiliary Console Project for Middle Eastern Power Plant Control Room
Operator-Controlled Emergency Console for Power Generation Control Room
Weimiao recently completed the design, fabrication, and electrical integration of a custom auxiliary console for a national power plant in the Middle East. Installed in the main control room, this operator-facing console plays a critical role in emergency handling and system safety. It allows operators to immediately shut down designated processes when abnormal machinery behavior is detected, ensuring rapid response and effective fault containment.
This project demonstrates Weimiao’s capability to manufacture mission-critical control room consoles and custom control panels that integrate both mechanical structure and electrical safety functions. The console was fully assembled and factory-tested prior to shipment, delivered installation-ready with all internal components pre-installed, labeled, and documented.
Built with 30 IDEC Emergency Stop Buttons and Phoenix Terminal Blocks
The auxiliary console features 30 industrial-grade emergency stop (E-stop) buttons from leading Japanese manufacturer IDEC, positioned ergonomically on the top surface of the console for operator access. Each button is internally wired to Phoenix Contact terminal blocks, which are pre-arranged inside the console for seamless connection to the central PLC cabinet located in the adjacent machine room.

Once on site, field engineers can quickly connect the terminal outputs to the PLC control cabinet, establishing a real-time emergency response loop between the console and core automation system.
Fire-Retardant Materials and UL-Certified Wiring for Safety Compliance
To meet international safety standards and the client’s strict fire protection requirements, Weimiao applied UL-certified, low-smoke, zero-halogen (LSZH) wiring throughout the console. Additional safety measures included:
UL standard terminal lugs for all connections
Flame-retardant wire ducts rated UL94 V-0
Labeling tubes and wiring markers made from fire-resistant materials
All wiring conforming to UL and IEC standards for industrial control panels
These measures ensure the console is suitable for use in high-risk, high-temperature, or enclosed environments, such as power plant control centers, while also supporting long-term durability and minimal maintenance.
